The name "Chermay" was carefully chosen as a tribute to my late mother, Cher Yang, who possessed great talent and expertise in creating intricate traditional Hmong embroidery known as "paj ntaub." Our mission is to honor the craftsmanship of the past while infusing it with a contemporary touch. By blending the old with the new, Chermay Boutique aims to keep this ancient art form alive and relevant in the modern world. Each piece is crafted with passion and attention to details, ensuring that the legacy of embroidery continues to enchant and captivate admirers for generations to come.
Chermay Boutique is a venture that was established in 2021 during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic by a mother and daughter team. Initially, it began as a pastime, where we crafted unique and personalized bracelets inspired by traditional Hmong practices for our loved ones. These bracelets held a significant meaning as they symbolized healing and blessings. The aim was to convey our constant thoughts and wishes for the well-being, safety, and protection of everyone, especially during these trying times when the world was undergoing drastic changes.
In the spring of 2021, with the unwavering encouragement and support from our cherished friends and beloved families, Chermay Boutique embarked on a journey to partake in local art and craft shows in order to spread the joy and showcase our exquisite bracelets to a wider audience. As our brand started gaining popularity, we felt compelled to expand our product lines as well as broaden our horizons. We soon found ourselves venturing into various events, not only in our local community but also in neighboring states.
After receiving exceptional feedbacks and immense praises from our satisfied customers, we were motivated to embark on a new venture and launch our very own online shop in 2024.
